The olive ridley sea turtle nests at several sites in the western Indian. The single most important breeding area for olive ridleys in the Indian Ocean along the Bay of Bengal is Orissa.

In the late 20th Century nature conservationist learned that large scale nesting of olive ridley turtles was taking place along the konkan sea shores. Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra (SNM) started Marine turtle conservation in Maharashtra state on 1st October 2002. Sinc

05.00am : Reach Velas, Break Fast

07.00am : Beach for hatchlings, following butterfly and bird watching near the shore

012.00pm : Lunch

01.00 pm : Rest or visit to near by places like Bankot fort.
03.00 pm : Attend workshop arrange by MTDC

06.00pm : Beach for hatching

08.30pm : Dinner and retire for the day.

Day 2 : 17th March 2013

06.00 am :  Early Morning rise , Good Morning , Breakfast 
06.30 am : Reach Beach for hatching.
09.00 am : Start for Shirvardhan.
12.00 noon : Lunch 
01.00 pm : start the Return Journey

08.00 pm : Reach Mumbai / Pune Tentatively
