We invite you for an adventure activity,  Rappelling & Valley Crossing at Duke’s Nose on 9th of March 2013.

     Cliff Height : 2506 ft

       Dukes Nose is a huge pinnacle which can easily seen while crossing lonavla khandala between Pune – Mumbai. It also called as Nagpani ( Cobra’s Hood ) , as The top of this cliff reflects the pointed hood of a SNAKE.  Popular with hikers , this cliff is believed to be a trekker’s paradise, which provide views of the downhill plains.  It is famous for rock climbing, valley crossing and  rappelling adventure activities. 

Rappelling is a quick way of descending heights using adventure gear and involves sliding down the ropes. The speed of descend is controlled by the friction. Proper belay support makes this event 100% safe.

Valley crossing is a quick way to cross the valley between two mountains.


The itinerary for the Event is as given below:

Meeting point : Lonavla  Station 08.00 am on 9th March 2013 

Mumbai people can reach  Lonavala by Indrayanai Express by 8.00 am

Pune People can reach Lonavala by 6.30 train or sinhagad Express.

  • 09:00 am : Reach Base Village, breakfast , Instruction , Do’s and Don’t
  • 09:30 am : Start moving toward Duke’s Nose.
  • 10:30 am : Reach Duke’s Nose.
  • 10.35 am : Rappelling  will start as per registration , turn by turn. (as per registration order or situational )
  • Lunch in between
  • 05:30 pm : Departure to Mumbai
  • Reaching Mumbai by 09:30 – 10:30 pm tentatively.

The olive ridley sea turtle nests at several sites in the western Indian. The single most important breeding area for olive ridleys in the Indian Ocean along the Bay of Bengal is Orissa.
In the late 20th Century nature conservationist learned that large scale nesting of olive ridley turtles was taking place along the konkan sea shores. Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra (SNM) started Marine turtle conservation in Maharashtra state on 1st October 2002. Sinc
e then every year this voluminous voluntary work of collecting newly laid eggs, re

locating them and there after taking care of the nests right upti
ll the hatchings are released to the sea, is being continued
